As technology innovates and new platforms arise, that only means content creation — and curation, will continue to evolve and expand like we’ve never seen before.
In this conversation with Zoe Scaman, founder of business and brand strategy studio Bodacious, she’ll share how creators are building audiences on new platforms, getting discovered, monetizing their work, their marketing and business transitions in branded partnerships, and why brands need to trust the process if they want to reach their audiences.
Dominique Dajer: During your talk at the APG event, Thinking Around Corners, you share that “Diversified business models are the catalyst for…
If there’s anything the global workforce has learned over the past year, it’s to “expect the unexpected.” Even more so in the advertising, media and marketing industries, there has been a natural call for the need to be adaptable, creative and innovative.
While many of us have been binge watching our favorite content across streaming platforms like Netflix, YouTube and Instagram, creatives alike have been producing the content we so desperately need to feed our souls. …
2020 has been widely recognized as the year of change, uncertainty and growth. With each of those, often comes the search for personal value, stability and career development.
Unfortunately in the United States, most Americans work 40+ hour weeks. So it shouldn’t come as a shock when talent is seeking new opportunities, or at least enjoy most of what they do. In fact, they should be encouraged to pursue whatever sparks a light within them.
Whether you’re a CEO of a Fortune 500 company or a start-up, a team manager or the head of recruitment, you’re a leader. And the…
We know the pandemic has wreaked havoc on our lives and the search for jobs. Analisa Cantu and I are two Editors-in-Residence at The Rosie Report, a social publishing platform designed to support the future of work, by everyone. We both have had the privilege to take on new roles in the last few weeks. In an original interview, we share some of our own experiences and provide some insight that fellow job hunters can implement to support their idea of the future of work.
Analisa started as Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager, Financial Services at the Wall Street Journal, and…
As a young girl I learned very quickly that you cannot change a person who doesn’t want to change. You cannot help a person who doesn’t want to be helped. This was based on a relationship I often observed growing up. Shortly after learning that, it became clear to me that as people, many of our actions are driven by our experiences or beliefs. If you’re looking for ways to change a person, let me save you some time and tell you now that you will waste your time. …
I still remember it like yesterday: I was offered an ad sales position for a TV company a couple months after graduating college. After thinking, “I don’t know what the hell this really entails,” I accepted the job offer anyway. Like most students fresh out of school, I figured I’d try something new to get me through the door into the advertising world. Maybe after a year or so I’d be onto my next adventure.
Almost two years later, I moved up and past another sales position, until I made my way into the marketing department — the light at…
On March 12th, I officially began working from home, as did many Americans. The following day, Breonna Taylor, a 26-year old Black woman, was shot and killed while she slept when Louisville police ransacked and fired through her home. The week after, my teenage brother started remote learning when New York City public schools closed. While Breonna Taylor’s murder made local news, the rest of the nation carried on as the primary focus at the time was this new, remote learning. One county and city at a time, public schools shut down as the United States joined a national quarantine.

“Where are you from?” Ah, the dreaded four words every multiethnic or person hates being asked. This question warrants one of three types of responses: a confused one, a sarcastic one, or a semi-liberated one. The answer we choose to go with likely depends on where we are in life, and how strong our foundation of cultural celebration and education is.
At the start of every school year, without fail, multiethnic and multicultural children are prompted with this question, or worse — “What are you?” …
If you’ve ever doubted the impact of the American vote, you’re not alone. Some registered Americans choose not to vote because they don’t believe their vote will make a difference. According to Census Bureau Data, as many as 15% of registered voters reported that they didn’t vote in the 2016 presidential election for this very reason.
Generally, one of the bigger roadblocks of the popular vote directly influencing who takes office, is the Electoral College. …
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a.k.a the Notorious R.B.G was appointed United States Supreme Court Justice in 1993. Ruth didn’t earn that nickname on a whim. She fought a long battle for democracy, civil rights, human rights, women’s rights and gender equality.
In the mid-1970s, she argued a half-dozen gender discrimination cases before the high court, winning all but one, reports The Lily News.
Justice Ginsburg became one of the most progressive Supreme Court judges in US history — unequivocally leaving her and her supporters with a generous amount of opposition.
